We are different!
If you listen closely on Sunday mornings you can hear an old church bell ring. It offers an invitation to come inside the steepled white building it is housed in - an invitation that has been offered since 1806.
Inside the church might not be what you expect! Onondaga Hill Presbyterian is a unique expression of the family of God.
Young and old are mixed together. A large screen up front guides worship that is sprinkled with songs old and new. Folk with canes intermingle with the under-5 crowd, and moments of silence are interspersed with laughter and the sound of children’s feet as they run off to Childcare and Sunday School. Worship is usually led by our Praise Team, but sometimes folk come out of the pews and join a more traditional “Big Choir”. We have found ways to cherish both the traditional and the new.
After worship we’ll sometimes pack kits for unhoused neighbors, or other mission projects. On other Sundays we’ll gather together at a local restaurant for a shared meal and fellowship. Once a month we gather around the Table and share communion - and remember anew that we are all part of one Body.
Our door is open! We look forward to meeting you, hearing your story and worshipping with you.
